I'm a huge fan of all of Christina Lauren's novels. The author duo has a way to hook the readers from the onset and provide all the necessary elements of a great romantic comedy. In this story, Holland Bakker has an infatuation with a certain street musician performing in the subway. She has been making up excuses to go and listen and watch him perform (from afar). But when she is almost attacked on the subway, the attempt thwarted by the handsome Irish street musician, Calvin McLoughlin, she falls for him even harder. When the police show up to the scene to make a report, Calvin disappears. As a show of gratitude, Holland gets Calvin an audition with her uncle, who is a famous Broadway musical director. The problem is that Calvin is in the US illegally, his student visa having expired years before. In an attempt to help both her uncle and Calvin, Holland offers a marriage of convenience so Calvin can remain in the US and be legal. What she doesn't foresee are the uncontrollable feelings and love she has for Calvin. Will they keep pretending it's all for convenience, or will they let their guards down and really love one another?
