I may be a little late to the Roomies party, considering this hit from author duo Christina Lauren came out at the end of 2017, but it's been on my TBR for a while and I'm glad I decided to pick up the audio book from my local library. Holland and Calvin's dynamic captivated me throughout the entire book, from Holland's extreme fascination with him playing at the subway station, to their first days living together as a married couple, to everything that evolved afterwards when feelings started to come into play. Their banter was cute and flirtatious, but they have some serious conversations at time (though not enough of them, in my opinion). Honestly, I'm on the same page as all the other reviews that mention the swoon-worthy Irishman, this isn't the first time I've fallen for an Irish love interest in a novel. But I did really appreciate Holland's character development throughout the book as well. Her uncle said it best, Holland cast herself as the supporting role in everyone else's story, but when she finally decided that it wasn't cutting it anymore, that she deserved to be the main character in her own narrative for once, that's when I saw growth, and I appreciated it. All in all, a solid read, an adorable cover, some friends who are mean for no good reason, and a book that touches on important topics while still delivering on the sass and fluff. Would recommend.
