A story of love, growth, and music. Girls sees boy playing music. Girl develops crush in the boy. Girl’s uncle needs a musician for his broadway show. Girl suggests boy. Boy is here illegally. Girl marries boy so he can stay in the US and be in the show. What can go wrong?

What a cute, fun and meaningful story. I mean it. Romance fiction is normally not so meaningful but Christina Lauren always have a message in between the fun of the romance developing. In this one, it’s about finding yourself in a time where you’re feeling lost. Holland wants to be a writer but is lost. She can’t write and she’s working at a job her Uncle arranged for her, mainly because he’s the musical director of the Broadway show. She does know music and knows when she sees Calvin playing for tips in the subway that he’s meant for something greater. When the opportunity presents itself she marries him so he can be in her Uncle’s show. Convenient for both since Holland has a huge crush on him.

The love story that ensues had me hooked. I read 300 pages in one night, that’s how hooked I was. I couldn’t stop reading. I needed to know more. I would say I probably finished this book in 3 hours total. I was invested! Christina Lauren have done it again and I cannot wait to read more of their books!
