This is a modern day rom-com about an Asian woman, Anh Nhi, but everyone calls her Annie. Her fiancé just left her for another woman and keeps dragging Annie through the mud. Annie has to move out of their home and ends up taking a temp job as a P.A. in Rome, Rhode Island. Where she unexpectedly meets Emmit in the middle of the night in the cabin she is renting. Emmit is home from China after a factory he was covering exploded sending a massive chunk of concrete to his head landing him in the ICU for 3 weeks. He comes home to find Annie in his home. They get off to a rough start but after 2 conversations she starts to realize he isn't the self-absorbed playboy she thought he was; and he thinks she is too sweet for her own good. I love this book so far it's so fun and heart felt in just the first 5 chapters. I love Emmit's character for sure especially knowing he found out he had a daughter and became an insta-dad coaprenting with his best friend and his daughter's step dad after the tragic loss of his daughter's, Paisley, mom. I am so eager to finish this book and continue falling in love with these characters. I can't wait to see the growth in these different relationships. Also, the publish date is my birthday so I know this book will be amazing!!!!
