This fun and fast read was a little slow to start, but once it pulled me in, I couldn't put it down and finished it in one sitting! Annie felt more likable immediately to me, and her half of the story never felt like it dragged, but getting into reading from Emmit's perspective took a little more effort. I struggled to find empathy for him at first, but he ended up being my favorite of the two lead characters.

The energy between Annie and Emmitt brings the heat almost immediately and watching their romantic feelings, and issues, play out was quite fun! It was unusual to find a book where half the couple was in a slow burn towards the relationship and half was all in almost as soon as they met, especially one that didn't have a cringy stalkery feeling to it.

The ARC contains a few typos and there's a couple of places that needed another pass- one chapter starts by referencing a "he" that is never explained- which should be figured out by publish. Overall, I greatly enjoyed the book and had a fun time reading it.
