I liked this more than I expected to. I thought it would end up being kind of dry and while it wasn't particularly exciting overall, I thought it conveyed information pretty well and was still interesting enough. I did have the background of being previously interested in comics, but I didn't know anything about comics before the 80s.
I also thought the balance between the pictures/covers and the writing was well done as well. This book allowed me to dip my toes into learning about the history of comics without feeling overwhelmed which I appreciated. I also did like the authors little anecdotes about what he was doing during certain to me periods. I would definitely recommend this to comic newbies and experienced comic lovers as well.
