Comic Companion
While this isn’t my type of read, seeing the rise of the super hero movies, I thought I’d take a peek at this book.
This is definitely for the serious comic collector and one who wants a detailed visual history of the hows and whys of a particular series. It is also a great visual guide for those who are also into the movies as well to perhaps learn why casting is often done the way it is – either in line or from a different “time” line of a comic.
It was very educational to revisit the history of some famous comics and learn their back stories, origins, as well as see how far they have advanced.
While I have not purchased any comics and am not into them, this book gave me an appreciation for the rich history.
As of note, the only “comic” based movies I’ve seen was the 2005 version of The Fantastic Four and the 2007 Rise of the Silver Surfer. I was in the minority who actually liked the movies.
