"Ring of Solomon" by Aden Polydoros was an enjoyable science fiction read. Even though it's categorized as a YA read, I believe adults will also find this an entertaining story.
Zach and his sister Naomi were scouring the local flea market in search of the perfect gift for their mother's upcoming 40th birthday. Naomi discovers and convinces Zach to purchase an antique Jewish ring. Their mother is Jewish and finds great enjoyment in locating items with a Jewish history. Shortly thereafter, Zach and Naomi along with their parents attend a party at the home of their maternal grandparents. They find out by accident that the ring they are about to give their mother has magical powers. They decide to find another gift for their mother and keep the ring for themselves. Zach finds himself conjuring up the King of Demons, also known as Ashmedai, "Ash" for short. The plot finds Zach, Naomi, Zach's friends and Ash find themselves fighting against a secret society who are intent on using the ring to summon three monsters: the Behemoth, the Leviathan, and the Ziz. Thus the magical story begins! This novel was so enjoyable, that I hope to see a series of adventures with Zach and the other amazing characters!
