A fresh take on mythology-based fantasy
Looks like a great middle grade adventure story. It’s told in first person with a great snarky voice. The main character is kind and cares about his family. He’s also not straight and is likeable. Looks like some good LGBTQ+ rep there. I love the use of Jewish lore and myths to build a fantasy world. Usually, Greek, Roman, or Christian myths are used as the core of fantasy worlds. It has some great Jewish representation (a rarity in this genre). It’s fast paced, but doesn’t rush. Looks like a great, quick, fun middle grade fantasy story.
