So this book, as probably seen by my title was definitely not close what I was expecting. Now that’s not a negative aspect, but it did render me surprised at times. This book follows Rasheed and Rasheeda, twins from Palestine, who move around a bit within the novel. Let me first start with the surprise aspects. This book was racy. Like more than I expected and wanted. It wasn’t needed for this book to work and it felt like the author added sex for the sake of acknowledging it. Now the story itself has well written parts and well rounded characters. The family aspect was great and engaged the reader in a familiar sense. It was what made this book likable. What I did not necessarily enjoy was the pacing. It felt a bit rushed to me and there were gaps what I wished the author had taken time to fill instead of focusing on other things. This was an interesting read at the least.
