I was not expecting all the emotions that I felt while reading this book. The Dinar family had many ups & downs & you feel everything with them. Rasheed & Rasheeda are such a loving brother sister pair that I was sad to not hear more of Rasheeda’s story. Rasheed’s story brought me to tears a couple times, for everything he went through for love & to protect his family. I enjoyed how they transitioned his story into his son Omar for the remainder of the book. It was a true family book in learning about their lives. Omar’s story was just as moving as his fathers. I however did not like what took place with Janice’s character. It felt like she was just brushed aside. While I didn’t like her actions the way she was causally just written away kinda bothered me. Overall the way the showed how some things have changed since the years the story takes place & now is really good. It also shows how some things have not changed. I would recommend this book to others.
