The first thing about this story that caught my attention is the setting. Most historical fiction novels, particularly those set in the 1940s, center around World War II and Nazi-occupied Europe. I love that this book not only veers towards a different geographic region, but that it also spans different decades and centers on other religions and family conflicts. The writing pulls you in and paints a picture from the very first line. Really looking forward to reading this in full.
