This book has so much of what I search for in a novel. I love a sweeping family epic, I love stories about people who have a different background than myself, and I enjoy historical fiction. This is a good debut by a new writer, but its nothing spectacular either; for me as a reader who has to pick and choose what they're going to read...this just doesn't do it for me.
