Wow! When I read the preview of Remembrance, I thought it sounded really good. I had no idea that it would suck me in and I would lose sleep to find out what would happen. It is well written and the descriptions drew a picture that any could see. I felt overwhelming sympathy for the three main characters and know that slaves were actually treated the way the book describes, and I held out hope for each.

I don't feel Gaelle's story is complete and hope that there may be a sequel to continue the story that I didn't want to end.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes historical fiction with a bit of magical realism.
