First off I hate that it took me so long to finish reading this. Life had other plans for me thats for sure. But this book is definitely a moving book. Kind of gives you insight as to what slaves had went through with a little added bonus to it. I love how it goes back and forth between the 3 main characters and how they all end up together in a round about way. It takes place in 3 time periods but with the first two they wind up in the same. The writing style is great. Very easy to read and you do find yourself rooting for them to take care of business when it came time for them to. Had a few heart racing moments. I know I wouldn't mind a spin-off of it just to see what ends up becoming of Gaelle and Josiah. The description of him was excellent. Definitely got a great picture in my mind of how he would look. Definitely a great read!
