Remembrance is about a slave girl, Margot, her sister and her grandmother. They have been sold to a family in Louisiana. Mother Abigail is the overseer of a mystical placed called Remembrance, a safe place for runaway slaves. She is a voodoo priestess that has a power that she uses for a hiding place from slavers that is in plain sight. There are several different characters throughout the novel and it takes place in three different timelines with four women across 200 years. I will admit that I found the timelines kind of confusing though. I am not really a fan of the supernatural, but I think that the author did a great job of spinning the supernatural aspect into the story even though there were times when I found it kind of confusing.
