This book thoroughly surprised me. I knew from the beginning that I loved grandmere and Margot but had no idea how much more Ibwould winf up liking Winter. The story flipped back and forth between perspectives which usually throws me off but it flowed so smoothly. I loved how real and rich the character descriptions were. At times I felt like I was right there in the story right next to the characters. There were even some points in the book where I was afraid to keep reading and almost closed the book thinking thst would help. My only thoughts were I wish there were more grandmere scenes. I would have loved to learn more about her background and magic. All in all one of the best historical books I've enjoyed in a while.
