This book sounds so amazing! I love the history and how it intertwines the past with the present. The author does a great job making the reader feel everything the characters are going through. It hurts my soul to imagine what it was like. Being a slave would be bad enough but having families separated would be unbearable. I can’t wait to read all of this book. And I’m sure the author will be winning awards for the great job she’s done.
