What I love about Bookish First is that every week there's a new book for me to try, whether that book is a genre I usually gravitate to, or not. I love trying to read outside my comfort zone because, sometimes, I find books in genres I usually wouldn't read, but I love the First Look and find a new favorite.
And although this book wasn't for me, I did enjoy reading the First Look because the story is beautifully written and engaging. I'm just not the biggest fan of historical, which is why it wasn't for me. I highly recommend those who like historical pieces to try the First Look, and even if that's not a genre you typically enjoy, I still encourage you to try it. You never know when you'll find a new, unexpected favorite.
