Historic novel flitting back and forth between the present and the past. Starts out current day with Gaelle working a nursing home, but she definitely has some of her ancestors gifts. When we are flipped to the past, story begins with Louisiana slaves, a grandmother and her two granddaughters. Grandmother sees and talks to spirits, but her oldest granddaughter, Margot has the touch of healing. Master and mistress to slaves fear and love them respectively because of the grandmother's gift. They are not aware of Margot's gift of touch. Definitely interesting.
