Redemption indeed! Ted Conkaffey is back, with his quirky private investigator cum murderer partner Amanda. Although we got that whole "murderer" thing cleared up in book one, she's just as wonderfully unique as she was in the first go round. We've moved further along in the plot of Ted trying to clear his name from having been falsely accused in the brutal attack of young Claire Bingley, while also being involved in trying to help Cairns police clear up a very odd robbery that occurred at a local bar. A big time drug dealer from Sydney that has oddly taken Ted under his wing for perhaps reasons of his own has involved himself in the crusade to clear Ted, there's a podcast now to drum up support called Innocent Ted, and we're being treated to alternating chapters that give us a first person look at the inner workings of the actual attacker. Everything gets nicely wrapped up with this book, but these two characters are so uniquely written and the writing is so fresh and fast paced that I could endlessly read these two solve crimes together. What a treat!
