REDEMPTION POINT was my first read by Candice Fox and I loved it!
"Former police Ted Conkaffey was wrongly accused (but not convicted) of abducting and raping Claire Bingley..."
The plot is extremely well-developed, with the right amount of descriptions and full of twists and turns. I enjoyed the multi-layered plot (the murder with robbery) - the mystery behind the crime is absolutely gripping and kept me on the edge of my seat. In addition, I loved the setting in Australia.
The characters are realistic and captivating: I enjoyed the main character Ted for his chilling yet at the same time, genuine behavior. The quirkiness of Amanda Pharrell is unique and very likable - she reminds me a little bit of Lisbeth Salander (Millennium). I found the partnership between Ted and Amanda precious, hence I was constantly rooting for them.
Although this is the second book of Crimson Lake series, it can be read as a standalone. "Redemption Point" is an amazing thriller and I highly recommend it - I would definitely read more of Candice Lake.
