As a parent, one of my biggest fears is having a child hurt or God forbid, be abducted. I cannot imagine what Claire's parents went through during the trial. I can't say I blame her dad for vowing to make things right for his little girl...but the fact that the protagonist claims innocence from the beginning definitely has me intrigued!
