I was surprised by how good this book is. Whenever a book is compared to a well liked movie or book I roll my eyes. This really does work as a comparison to the Jason Bourne series. It has a similar vibe. This is not really my type of book but people who enjoy this type of novel will love it. I think I have found my Mom’s birthday gift here. The cover confused me at first. I thought it was a red UFO and felt very silly when I realized it is exactly what the cover says, a red journal. After I realized what it is I decided I really liked it and if a reader doesn’t overthink the image like I did it really looks good. My only issue is that the book’s style is a tiny bit repetitive in areas. Not everywhere just in a few spots but it bugged me a bit.
