An assassin with amnesia, plus an ex-girlfriend on his hit list -- this is Meredith Wild's recipe for great excitement and romantic tension. From this first pages, the reader is drawn into the mystery of Tristan's loss of memory and why his orders are to kill Isabel. Wild pumps up the sense of danger and surrealism, opening the saga in Rio and quickly moving on to a desperate dash from the city, an emergency evacuation to D.C., hiding out with frequent changes of location, and a mounting number of attempts on both Isabel and Tristan's lives. The pacing is fast and furious . . . except in the bedroom. Not that the flow is off there -- it's just that these scenes interrupt the pace of the narrative and aren't necessary. The tension between Tristan and Isabel telegraph that they have and will sleep together. Other than that, ideal for fans of Jason Bourne and romantic intrigue alike.
