Tristan Red - Boring Trope or Worthwhile Leading Man?

The excerpt definitely peaked my interest - you can tell just in these five pages that Tristan is a shady character and you get a little hint of the relationship between he and Mateus and the mystery girl - but not quite enough to be satisfied. I'm not so much into thrillers like this - with an assassin who has a murky past and has been broken somehow by the world - but I certainly am intrigued by Tristan Red.
