i love all books british and couldn't wait to read about Queenie. I would not have ever compared this to bridget jones diary however. bridget was quirky, klutzy and out to be her own worst enemy in the lightest way. Queenie goes to dark places that bridget never did. that does not mean this was not a good story. this book is this way though because it is dealing with heaver issues of mental illness and racism in a completely different decade than bridget was written in. i don't quite agree with pitching this book as fully humorous. not sure that too many people would disagree with me here. you will either really love queenie or really want to throttle her at times. this was not the bridget jones humourous book i was expecting it to be.
