Sometimes, you have to laugh to keep from crying, that's kind of an ongoing theme for most women, especially women of color. This one was the book I wished had been written when I first discovered Bridget Jones' Diary. I wished that there was a version like this, depicting all of the the things that WOC go through, the fact that Queenie was in an interracial relationship put the icing on the cake, rarely do we see a black woman with a white man in fiction, I LOVE IT. I'm so glad that I ordered a copy for our Library, it's the hilariously tragic story that we wanted and needed. I feel like every WOC can relate to Queenie on some level, sometimes, life is a series of unfortunate events and is absolutely ok to laugh like hell in those moments. Thanks Queenie ;)
