At the start of reading this, I immediately was immersed!! You get a good glimpse into Queenie and her family life, along with the relationships she has with her boyfriend and friends. I love the realness of it & how I can relate with it!! I see the parallels of the 2 families of different races.. WOW!! The way the older generation sees race and division, when the younger ones do not see color but they just see each other as humans, ya know? Reading this excerpt, it is apparent there is more to the story of Queenie's family too.. I WANT TO KNOW MORE AND HOW IT ENDS!! Can Queenie work on her "things" to be able to reconcile with Tom????? I absolutely need to read this book in its entirety.. Just reading the teaser does not cut it!!! :)
