I really wanted to like this book. Despite the not-so-good reviews that I read, I really believed that I would like this so much more. I will say that there is nothing that would have stopped me from reading this book. I was always wanting to know more about the story, so even the not-so-great parts kept me wanting to read. I wanted to know how things were going to end.
I didn't really expect it to be as dark as it was. I understand that the things that she experienced and the things that she did were things that lead to her mental health the way it was, but there were parts that just felt uncomfortable. I do believe that while this is not the way people may feel the main character should, despite friends and being
older than the "typical" main character of a mental health story, I think that it played a really important role in showing just how much she was affected by these things.
