I read this book because of all the comments about it beign like a modern Bridget Jones and beign completely honest, for me the book was nothing alike.
After breaking up with her boyfriend, Queenie, a Jamaican Brithish woman living in London, starts making really poor decisions about her life.
It’s a story about a woman experiencing anxiety, the struggles about two cultures, racism, abuse and self worth.
It’s not a light read, it’s graphic and dark, but honest, real and it has some humor.
I was expecting something light and funny so I guess I wasn’t prepared.
