I blew through this book over the course of a couple of days, not wanting to put it down for even a minute. The writing was easy to follow and I loved the flashbacks throughout the book. It was the perfect way to provide context of what Queenie was feeling/thinking while still keeping a clear flow of the story. I've read a lot of reviews that characterize Queenie as an unsympathetic main character, but I personally loved her. The decisions that Queenie made in the book may be seen as "bad" by some people, but I find her character to be extremely relatable. The one thing I wished the author would have explored more is the relationship with Queenie and her mother. It seemed like something that was important throughout the book, but I would have liked to see some closure at the end. Overall I loved this book. It is one that I will be recommending to friends and will potentially be reading again in the future!
