I wasn't quite sure what to expect going into this book. I saw a post by JoJo Meyes recommending the book and it was selected for a work book club so I picked it up. I enjoyed the style of writing and the pace of the book however my heart broke for Queenie.
I've seen comparisons of Queenie to Bridget Jone's Diary but you're definitely not going to get a lighthearted romantic comedy. While the book had me laughing at times, Queenie is a bit of a hot mess attempting to get her life on track after a tough and one-sided breakup. I kept waiting for Queenie to find her self-worth instead of jumping from one guy to the next.
I enjoyed seeing Queenie's character growth throughout the story and would definitely read another book by Candice Carty-Williams.
