I loved this book. I had seen so much publicity about this book, and I usually don't like popular books. There was something about the book that spoke to me, and I was so glad I took the time to read it. This author has a unique voice, and we need more strong women writers. I love to read books by first time authors, because I know there will be more books just like this to read. This book is about a black journalist who wants to cover the Black Lives Matter trend, and in the process she becomes empowered. A good role model for all young black girls, and any young girl aspiring to have a voice in the world. We need more writers like this, and more books for teenagers that aren't about vampires and demons.
