Queenie is getting a lot of buzz. After reading the first look, I can understand why. Queenie is 25, or Jamaican heritage, and works at a newspaper in the UK. She has a white boyfriend named Tom. Her relationship with Tom is not going well. In fact, they might break up. This is unfortunate timing because Queenie has been experiencing some gynecological symptoms; when she goes to the OBGYN, sans Tom, she gets some sad news.
Wow! The beginning of Queenie sets up what promises to be a transcendent novel. I am eagerly awaiting a chance to read the rest of the book.
