First off: the cover. I actually really like the colors used on it, and the font of the title, but I don't really like how the image itself of braided hair fits onto it. Since the rest of the cover seems to be relatively minimalistic, the detailed design of the sketch threw me off a little, and I would have prefered a more simplistic, streamlined image on the cover.

Before I really get into my opinion of the text, though, I want to preface my review by saying that I'm not the intended audience of the novel, and that's probably why it appealed to me less than it would the normal reader. I'm not someone who usually reads biographies, or psychological fiction, so I'm sure that my taste in novels will probably show up in my review of the book.

Actually in the text itself, though - I thought the pacing was a little too fast for my taste. I only got to read the first few chapters, so parts of this can be attributed to how the beginning of the book is supposed to establish events and conflicts that the rest of the book explores, but it felt like everything was happening too rapidly for me to really dwell on the effects and meanings of certain events. But the characters seem vivid and the dialogue is enjoyable, and the mannerisms of each character are fleshed out enough to make you want to see more of them, and it's overall generally enjoyable.
