The excerpt of QUEENIE opens with Queenie finding out she's having a miscarriage even though she's using an IUD. Afterwards, she heads home where she starts packing ... but is she packing her things so she can move in with with boyfriend, Tom, or is their relationship over and she's moving out? I found the timeline sporadic and confusing and wasn't sure.
