As an avid SF reader with an educational and career background in engineering and systems, I greatly appreciate this compendium of science info for authors.

Many otherwise decent stories have been ruined for me by nonsensical or weak science or technology. The lack of a good technical basis means that the entire story is built on quicksand.

This collection of 59 chapters, all provided by experts in their field, each covers a specific scientific or technological concept. These should prove to be helpful to many SF authors by either reducing or sharpening their research with the usable discussions and backgrounds provided. This tool should result in better plots, perhaps even suggesting new storyline options to the authors.

I was pleasantly surprised to find Putting the Science in Fiction to be very readable, informative, and even humorous (in a nerdy way).
