I really enjoyed Promise Boys by Nick Brooks, a YA thriller about three students of The Urban Promise Prep School, J.B., Ramon and Trey, who find themselves suspected of the murder of their principal Kenneth Moore. The students soon realize their only hope of clearing their names is to work together to find out who the murderer is. This story was well written with colorful characters and a pace that keeps you turning the pages. You find yourself rooting for these intelligent boys who each look guilty for one reason or another. The books ends with a great finale that feels like you are there as a witness, and leaves you with such a great feeling of hope as you discover the truth. It's such fun, seeing the transformation of these kids as they become amateur sleuths, and the changes the extremely strict school and staff go through by the end. I look forward to reading more from this incredibly gifted and entertaining author.
