Great fairytale retelling
I love a good fairytale retelling, and this one did not disappoint! It has evil Rapunzel vibes which I loved!
The story also had twists on Greek mythology which I thought was really cool. I'd never seen that done before--weaving Greek myth in with a well-known fairytale--and I thought the author did it well here.
With all that said, I will say that this story veered away from the traditional story of Rapunzel like we know it, and that was totally fine with me. I like when an author takes a well known story and puts their own spin on it. (But fair waiting to those who do not!)
I have no read the other book set in this world (To Kill a Kingdom), but I do think this world is interesting. My favorite part was definitely the magic system and the competition set around it!
I loved Selestra and Nox's enemies to lovers situation! I would say they were more snarky to lovers more than anything else, which was still fun.
