Admittedly this book was not on my radar prior to receiving an ARC, but I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read it! While this book is far from my typical read as a young adult fantasy novel, this was truly a fantastic book!
The writing style is engrossing and, at times, I found it almost impossible to put down! I liked how it switched between Selestra’s and Nox’s perspectives at the start of each chapter; this writing style gave you greater insight into each of the main characters. The book “world” was well-crafted and easily imaginable; I also loved the magical aspects of this book.
Overall this book was a fun, quick read! I’m so grateful I had the chance to read an ARC of this book because if I had seen this book in store, I likely would have passed it up because of the cover art (not a fan!) and the genre. It turns out this book was definitely one of my favorite reads thus far this year!
