I’m writing this review based on what this book is intended for, because if you’re not into this subject you obviously shouldn’t go out and buy this book. However if you love makeup, skin care, defying gender norms, or even just plain history I think that this is a really interesting book that deserves attention.
I’ve never read a book about men throughout history wearing makeup, or even heard of it. The author clearly put a lot of research into this and it shows. He has men wearing makeup all the way from the Stone Age up until the present day. Not only does he tell you how they utilized makeup (and also skin/hair care) he also gives you diys that you can try yourself with each section. It’s a lot of fun reading through this. I didn’t try any of the tutorials but I am definitely interested in having fun and trying a couple in the future.
It’s amazing how we are slowly but surely getting rid of more and more gender stereotypes, and just making everything normal for everyone. I loved this and if you’re considering buying it, just go pick it up!
