I like the history behind this book. I do not wear makeup, but I found all the bios and history fascinating.
When I first go this book, I thought it was going to be just biographies of people through history. I think the cover art, makes it seems as though it is all mini biographies. But this book dives into fashion and makeup through the years as well as tutorials. It discusses history and has some mini biographies throughout as well. I even learned a thing or two about makeup even though it was geared towards men. I think the book is very well researched and written. I also enjoyed seeing the visuals throughout the novel.
I also liked the personal story at the beginning of the novel. Typically when reading a book like this, the author does not discuss themselves.
