David Yi's nonfiction book "Pretty Boys" feels very nostalgic in some ways - a true throwback to the OG Bobbi Brown makeup books I read throughout the 1990s - and significantly forward-thinking in others. The combination works. Not only that, it's delightfully fun to read. In his book, Yi profiles a wide variety of "pretty boys" from Neanderthals up until now, gently providing readers with information about history, makeup, beauty trends, and life in general. The book can be read simply, as an entertaining guide, or deeply, as inspiration for the reader to become their true self. In either case, the book is worth reading. And Yi's love for BTS is close to my own heart. The illustrations are lustrous too; I look forward to seeing them in full color. Bravo to David Yi. I can't wait to pass this along to more readers. It has the power to change many lives for the better.
