Pretty Boys - little history about beauty and men, mixed in with some beauty tips anyone can use. The history was interesting, who knew that Vikings carried grooming kits with them? They were very clean and their hair and beards were very important to their beauty. We also learn how RuPaul got his start as a drag queen, which was not an easy road to get where he is today.
I enjoyed the timelines (ex: cursed skin to nails) scattered throughout the book which were quick to read with fun facts about beauty and how it evolved through time.
This book was a different read for me, not something I would have picked up on my own. Great information for anyone who is interested in learning more about the history of makeup and beauty. I also really enjoyed reading the 10 real-life examples of pretty boys and their journeys of finding themselves and some even sharing their coming out experiences.
