This is definitely an offbeat book, mostly in a good way. With a focus on beauty, particularly male beauty, across time this is definitely a history that many people choose not to focus on. And while beauty can be many things including calming, focusing, and confidence-building it can also border on narcissistic if it consumes you and superficial if there isn't any substance behind it. It's hard to tell from just the preview where the beauty side of it will go, but I hope it's the former and not the latter.
