I very much enjoyed this book! This was a part of high school that I am sure exists in many different ways unfortunately.

I really enjoyed the main character in this book. There was a lot of growth for this character- for example, she thinks she can’t be friends with girls and over time learns that is not the case and how valuable a female friendship can be.

The main part of the story begins when she learns her “friends” (on the team her dad coaches) mislead her to believe they have deeper feelings and use her physically. She learns this and is left broken-hearted.

Overtime she gains confidence, learns what she wants and stands up for herself. There ends up being a little romance and I appreciated how she handled this relationship differently, through honesty and communication. It was a bit of a slow burn which was fitting for the story and her journey.
