Honestly I’d never heard the term Practice Girl, it’s one of those things you sorta remember the boys and girls in school referring to losing it to get it out of the way so it’ll be easier.
So was nice that this one went right in, and basically slapped the reader to the forehead going it’s time for the world to know this exists. I’m not 100% this would be classroom group read material cause the context, let’s be honest gets banned all the time, but maybe as a side bar have available or this needs pushed to the direction of the young women in high school so that they can relate learn and grow with it. It wasn’t a typical read for me as I’ve long since passed finding enjoyment in young adult but it’s the reads like these, a matter some sort of message that occasionally I’ll give in and absorb, this is the story I know for a fact teen me would’ve loved and cherished the message.
Great characters and development, easily a page turner without much context being “too hard” to understand or work through, typical school setting with your run of the mill tropes and younger mindsets.
