I was unsure what to fully expect from Practice Girl. I didn't know if we'd lean more to feministic girl power or sappy, cheesy romance - either of those being great options. However we got a wonderful mixture of both, along with such great introspection... and a little romance too. Not to say that there isn't some great conversation about sexuality and double standards. There is! And there's also some really cute romance between Jo and Dax - they have a great rapport!

Jo is a main character who doesn't quite know herself. She's looking for something, whether that be comfort or love or worth, and doesn't know how to find it. She's an extremely relatable 17 year old, who is learning how to be better person. We find her on this incredible - unique to her, and yet such an everyday - journey of finding one's self and navigating of heartache, sexuality, despair, joy, love, friendship, and family. Honestly the romance and love-ish triangle wasn't really a selling point as much as the growth Jo goes through. I love how we see her accept others and herself. It's just so good! And I was so impressed with how the author captured this amazing feeling of learning your worth.
