Josephine Beckett lives in a self-described House of Romantic Horrors, and the author does an excellent job of capturing Jo's gut wrenching disappointments when she thinks someone likes her so much that it could already border on true love.
Jo's first-person narration is realistic and sad. She envisions fun future times with each boy who comes onto her. The sexual attraction seems to come naturally from an interest in her - Jo. Unfortunately, it's only Jo's body that is of interest. This YA novel is an important story that could help some teens avoid situations they later regret.
